Phans55 started out as a family of foodies who traveled constantly and enjoyed all the different
types of cuisines all over the world. The different smells and aromas that flourished in each
nation that we visited; inspired something deep within us and fired a passion that boiled within.
We wanted to bring something unique and beautiful that we knew represented our culture and
passion. This in turn was the beginning of Phans55. The idea was to take traditional Vietnamese
cuisine and give it a little bit of a modern flare. This was the food we ate everyday growing up.
There was always an abundance of greens in every dish. The smell of dill would take us to another
level; the taste of delicate curry would tantalize our taste buds. It was the utter simplicity that
fascinated us about Vietnamese cuisine. We knew all these wonderful creative dishes that were
brought forth to us from family to family. Years of technique training passed on from generation
to generation. At family gatherings, food was the topic of discussion. It was through eating that
we could take a moment and listen to each other’s lives. Food always had this magical element
that can bond different people from different backgrounds together. It was our goal to deliver
a facet of what we knew best.
